Avondklanken in ARTIS

On 17 and 20 June, there will be special evening performances during ARTIS' Earthlings Festival; Evening Sounds. On both nights at the ARTIS Planetarium, there will be a blast of green energy. The theatre group Styrofoam will not give a boring lecture but an evening of beautiful music and humour during the performance Outside the Lines. On 20 June, we celebrate the longest day of the year with a dark starry sky without light pollution. Writer Marjolijn van Heemstra will guide you in a unique way to experience the darkness.

Outside the lines

The facts about the climate crisis come at us daily. Figures, graphs and probability calculations, information that is barely comprehensible. And that appeals to the head but not the heart. We may not need gushing facts either, but stories that touch, stories you want to pass on. What is the story of our climate?

In the performance Outside the Lines, theatre group Styrofoam tells the stories of our climate. No boring lecture with figures and disturbing facts, but an evening full of beautiful music, humour, a huge load of (green) energy and a glimmer of hope for all earthlings. Styrofoam got help from scientists and experts like Heleen de Coninck and Margot Ribberink. And by using a second-hand set (Lebbis) and second-hand clothes (Pieter Derks and Theo Maassen), Buiten de Lijntjes is perhaps the first completely CO2-neutral theatre performance in the Netherlands.
