City Museum Harderwijk is the museum of, for and about Harderwijk. A welcoming, vibrant place where city history and visual arts are central. There is something for everyone to see, do and experience.
In 'Pension Harderwijk. Rooms full of stories' you get to know the past of Harderwijk.
There are also surprising exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. In the Smeepoortzaal on the first floor, a new exhibition with work by a local artist can be viewed every six weeks.
Stories also continue outside the museum walls. Follow the sculpture route through the historic downtown or admire the 16th-century vault paintings in the Grote Kerk from April through October.

Director of City Museum Harderwijk Corien van der Meulen reflects in CultuurWerkt! Magazine on the theme of the Friends Lottery Museum Prize 2022: Best Neighbor.
"This theme is right up our alley. Because 'our kind' of museums are by nature good neighbors. All of us are connected to the environment in one way or another. That same environment is also our right to exist. It works both ways: we are a good neighbor to the inhabitants, vice versa we need the city, with its inhabitants, organizations and entrepreneurs."
